What is Iridescent Glass?Iridescent glass has had a layer of metal-oxide applied when the glass is still molten. This gives it a rainbow-like metallic sheen similar to an oil slick. This sheen has a much subtler effect then dichroic glass. Iridescent coatings tend to be less durable than dichroic coatings and use in areas subject to abrasion or frequent cleaning (such as kitchens) should be avoided. |
